What is School Readiness?
School readiness' is a measure of the knowledge, skills and behaviours that enable children to participate and succeed in school.
Research shows that children who start school when developmentally ready to learn tend to do better in school – and it sets them up for further success later in life.

In Australia, it is known that children enter school with marked differences in the cognitive, non-cognitive and social skills needed for success in the school environment
(Centre for Community Child Health and Telethon Institute for Child Health Research, 2007).

Since beginning ou educational journey in 2018, Ready Child has been associated with producing and further providing high quality educational school readiness programs. It is our mission to support all preschoolers in their transition to big school.
Our program and teaching is guided by our educational passion of bridging the educational and academic gap between the Early Childhood and Primary years, with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy.

Our programs have been developed by, and are delivered to your preschoolers by our Primary teachers, linking all learning experiences to the EYLF and further supporting children in achieving ES1 (Kindergarten) learning outcomes before attending school!

Our teaching and learning strategies are also compatible with the way your child is taught at big school. Through a modelled, guided and independent approach to learning new concepts, Ready Child creates a learning environment that reflects a holistic kindergarten experience - allowing your child to become familiar and confident with this approach to learning.

Each term we provide children, parents and the service with learning goals, relating to our program and learning outcomes. We celebrate the success of achieving these learning goals and communicate areas in need of support.

Ready Child endeavours to facilitate all children in becoming confident and involved learners, who are ready for their academic transition into big school and the wider community.
Our beliefs are grounded in research and experience, which suggests that preschool participation in high quality early education programs like ours can contribute positively to children’s development during the early years, and therefore towards their school readiness and future learning (Boethel, 2004).

Ready Child offers progressive and dynamic teaching and learning strategies, providing children with enriched, stimulating playbased learning experiences that will help them to succeed in kindergarten and experience a LOVE for learning.
