Today we had fun learning about the alphabet in both upper and lower case form!

The alphabet is the building block of language. In order to become literate, our children must first begin by being able to recognise each letter in upper and lower case form, both in order and out of order, as well as the sounds connected with that letter. Letter manipulatives such as these are as important as having a visual alphabet around!

By allowing children to interact with the alphabet through hands-on play, they are able to feel the shape of the letter and arrange multiple letters to form letter strings or words.

Children can also see the curves and the lines that come together to form each letter. We love incorporating letter manipulatives within our learning experiences at Ready Child, and so do our School Readiness students!
