Open ended resources provide multiple uses and endless opportunities for children to learn, explore and create. They are also a great resource for us teachers in exploring literacy and numeracy concepts with our students.

We like to use our large mega blocks for teaching all three mathematical strands, with focus on; patterns, data, measurement and number value.

With a few stickers and some letters added to the faces of these, we also have ourselves a bountiful learning resource, catering to both key learning areas.

To support our children in learning new concepts, we like to use familiar resources such as these - keeping it simple for our little learners.

We are looking forward to implementing these resources in our literacy/numeracy groups and showing you all the learning that took place from these basic big blocks!
